"No
hotels, no cars, no crowds... no worries" |
| That's right...other than
the fire department, there are no cars on North Captiva.
Who would want one because where else can you be 15 minutes
from the mainland and yet world's away? When you arrive,
either by regularly scheduled ferry boat or private boat,
you will be greeted by the welcoming staff of the North
Captiva Island Club Resort. They will transport your baggage
and other supplies directly to the Lazy Dolphin (and
eventually back again). |
| During your visit you'll
receive your own personal four passenger golf cart (with
additional rental carts available upon request), but as the
developed area is only 1/2 mile wide, many guests prefer to
walk or ride bikes. |
| Even though this
tropical island paradise is only mainland, with seven miles of pristine beach, a tropical forest
preserve, major league fishing which can be accessed by boat
or right off the beach, and abundant tropical birds,
turtles, dolphins, manatees and other wildlife, you can
enjoy nature like no where else. |
| When you want creature
comforts, in addition to the many comforts at the Lazy
Dolphin, as guests you will enjoy full privileges at the
North Captiva Island Club Resort with competition-size
pools, tennis courts, bikes, kayaks, charter fishing, jet
ski rental, boat rental, golf excursions, play ground,
supervised kid's club and boat slips. |
| At the club and around the
island you will find three restaurants, a boutique, two
realty offices, a chapel, and a small grocery store. |

Location of North Captiva |
| Although North Captiva is
serene as a Pacific atoll, it is only minutes from the
mainland and simple to get to - and many say getting there
is part of the fun. It's just a short distance from I75 and the
Fort Myers Airport. Most guests choose the regularly
scheduled ferry service, but boaters can arrive via their
own boats and aeronautically
inclined visitors can make arrangements to use the private airstrip. When you make your reservation we'll help you
arrange everything. |
